Breakfast Sausage Seasoning (Whole30)

I've taken a long time perfecting this blend, and I want to share it with y'all! I buy my spices (Penzey's Spices, always) in bulk and make a big jar of the blend for whenever I'm ready to cook. I usually use ground pork or ground chicken. It's a bit spicy, I hope you love it!

Here's what you need to make a big batch:

-1/8 c. Sea Salt (coarse is best)

-1/8 c. Rubbed Sage

-1/8 c. French Thyme

-1/8 c. Paprika (Hungarian style, sweet)

-1/8 c. Black Pepper

-1 tbsp. Cayenne

-1 tbsp. Nutmeg

That's it! Make sure you stir every time you scoop it out: some of the spices rise to the top so you want to ensure you have an even blend each time can't wait to see how you guys use this blend, I have to say it's one of my favorite kitchen creations of mine!

How to prepare breakfast sausage crumbles:

  1. Brown 1 lb. ground pork.

  2. Add 2 Tbsp. seasoning blend and 1/4 c. water. Stir to combine.

  3. Bring to boil, and then turn heat to low and let simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Enjoy or store up to one week.

  • 1/8 c. Sea Salt
  • 1/8 c. Rubbed Sage
  • 1/8 c. French Thyme
  • 1/8 c. Paprika
  • 1/8 c. Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Cayenne
  • 1 tbsp. Nutmeg
Combine ingredients and store in an airtight jar. When you're ready to use, shake your container so seasoning is well-mixed and add 2 tbsp. per 1 lb. ground meat.
