I thought it’d be fun to come up with a simple spiced almond milk recipe that you could drink when you’re feeling a little bit festive. I’m trying to make my nut milks at home more often, and I love how this little flavor experiment paid off! Very subtle, and perfect to drink cold or hot.
Here’s what you need:
1 C. Raw Almonds
1/2 Vanilla Bean (or 1/4 tsp. Vanilla Bean Powder or Paste)
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
1/4 tsp. Ginger
Sprinkle of Sea Salt
Here’s what to do:
Fill a glass dish with the almonds and fill to the top with filtered water. Soak overnight.
Cut the vanilla bean open and scrape interior for fresh vanilla bean paste. Add to blender.
Rinse soaked almonds and add to blender with 2 cups of fresh filtered water and all other ingredients.
Blend until smooth.
Pour liquid into a glass pitcher lined with cheesecloth or nut milk bag. Lift cheesecloth/bag and strain all liquid from pulp.
Refrigerate one hour before serving. Keeps refrigerated up to one week.
